When Craig Varjabedian and I began Eloquent Light Photography Workshops back in 1986, it was with the desire to create experiential hands-on photography workshops inspired by those that Craig attended back in the 1970's. For Craig, these workshops were life-changing and helped determine the course of his life's work as a photographer.

When you sign up for a workshop at Eloquent Light, you will be working with an award-winning, published and exhibiting fine art photographer. Craig has published 13 books of his images (see them here), his photographs have been collected by many major museums and he has even received an Emmy award for a PBS television piece about his photographic work. It is an astonishing if not staggering amount of image-making and commitment to photography to be sure.

We began Eloquent Light because we wanted to share what Craig had learned from many years behind the camera. We want to give back to a pursuit that has brought great joy, satisfaction and personal fulfillment to us for many years. We want to pay it forward. And after almost 40 years we are still enthusiastically helping photographers from around the world find their own unique visual voice and make great pictures.

We invite you to join us for a workshop that just might change the way you make photographs.

Join us!
