Mentoring Program The most common money-related mistakes artists make is a reluctance to invest in their own careers. –Michelangelo, Painter of the Sistine Chapel ![]() Eloquent Light Executive Director and working fine art photographer Craig Varjabedian has mentored photography students for a long time. As a master photographer, with experience from 35mm to large format to the latest digital SLR cameras, Craig has helped many struggling photographers find their focus, refine their vision and sharpen their technical skills. As a mentor he can help expand your photographic knowledge and skill, while guiding you on your own unique photographic journey, whether it leads to a project, building a portfolio, or ?????. Craig believes in giving back through his teaching and mentoring. Mentoring is a relationship between two people with the goal of professional and personal development. The "mentor" is usually an experienced individual who shares knowledge, experience and advice with a less experienced person, or "mentee." Mentors support and encourage their mentees by offering suggestions and knowledge, both general and specific. The goal is to help mentees improve their skills and, hopefully, advance their careers.- Mindtools.com See complete article here. Each person has individual needs and questions and as a mentor, Craig will offer his guidance based on over 30 years working in photography. This program works well long distance through telephone consultation, which includes feedback on your images and answers to your personal photography questions. Mentoring works well while you work on a photographic project or towards a set of goals. Personal one-on-one meetings can be arranged. Craig’s career in photography began seriously after meeting Ansel Adams at a photography gallery and then attending a workshop with him as a young man. He studied with Phil Davis at the University of Michigan, received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and later worked with photographer Paul Caponigro in Santa Fe. Craig has lived, photographed and taught photography in New Mexico since 1985. He has been awarded many accolades for his work including NEA grants and a television Emmy award. He has six published photography books to his credit and another one underway. You can download Craig's particulars by clicking in the image below.
