The land and light of Santa Fe has drawn artists, painters, and photographers for more than a century for its quaint adobe architecture, brilliant light and multicultural flavors of the Native Americans, Spanish and the Old West. Join Eloquent Light’s Tye Hardison for a fun two-day workshop to photographing the City Different with your iphone or smartphone.
WHAT: It’s been said many times, the best camera is the one you always have with you. With advances in digital imaging, iPhones and smartphones are very capable of creating incredible high resolution photographs and since your smartphone is basically a computer there are great creative apps available to edit your photos. You will learn learn the features, apps and creative possibilities of this most versatile tool.
WHO: Whether you’re just starting to explore the features of your phone’s camera, or you want to expand your photographic phone skills, this workshop will cover many aspects of photography and photo editing with a smartphone. You’ll need to be able to walk up to a mile and carry your own gear – phone, water bottle, etc.

Additionally, we’ll apply the editing apps to your images to turn them from snapshots into creative works of art you’ll love to share.
BACKGROUND: Santa Fe, New Mexico is a magical, exuberant, colorful journey at any time of year. It’s legendary history and culture will fascinate and inspire you. Santa Fe is renowned for its Pueblo-style architecture and as a creative arts hotbed. Founded as a Spanish colony in 1610, it has at its heart the traditional Plaza with the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, along with its fascinating historic neighborhoods and the famous Canyon Road with an abundance of artist studios and galleries.
WHAT TO BRING: Lots of enthusiasm for making pictures. A mobile device such as an iPhone or Android smartphone; optionally, an iPad or Android tablet equipped with a camera. Before heading out to take pictures, we will discuss apps you can use and make time to download them. (We will provide a complete list of necessary gear before the workshop begins.)

Tye Hardison has photographed all across New Mexico since 1999. A meticulous craftsman with a native’s sensitive eye, he assists Craig in the field and with Eloquent Light's photography workshops. Tye is Adobe Lightroom Certified. This means that after rigorous testing by Adobe, he is now considered an expert in the joys and pitfalls of Lightroom photo editing software. His expertise in Lightroom will provide new tools for workshop attendees.
