ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Santa Fe was called the Dancing Ground of the Sun by early Native American inhabitants and nicknamed The City Different by town fathers at the turn of the 20th century. By any name, Santa Fe is one of the world’s top award-winning and most beloved destinations—four centuries of history and legend, ancient and modern cultures, surrounded by a majestic landscape of juniper and piñon-covered hills, aspen and cottonwood groves with deep blue skies and radiant light.

With ancient adobes, cowboys and horses, and stunning vistas to photograph and inspire you, come to the most enchanting place in the United States. Award-winning photographer Craig Varjabedian will share his favorite places and people with you and guide you to the best locations to capture the magical light that has inspired artists here for centuries.

Award-winning photographer Craig Varjabedian will share his favorite places and people with you and guide you to the best locations to capture the magical light that has inspired artists here for centuries.

Because we have established personal relationships, you will be able to have unique experiences—from capturing local cowboys to photographing spectacular sunsets at a historic hacienda. We will base out of Santa Fe and you will receive hands-on guidance and personal attention in the field.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Whether you are pointing your camera at an adobe hacienda or capturing the dynamic weather, you'll spend time challenging yourself and honing your image-making skills. During the workshop, we will be out photographing in both morning and evening light. You will receive hands on guidance and personal attention in the field attuned to your level. Class discussions will be held at Craig's studio in Santa Fe. Along with receiving feedback on your images, you will learn and discuss different aspects of digital photography.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is terrific for all digital photographers well grounded in both manual and program modes of their digital camera. You should be prepared to carry your own gear and be capable of walking and light hiking on trails and varied terrain.

WHAT TO BRING
Lots of enthusiasm for making pictures. Your digital camera with lenses, tripod, and filters. A laptop computer to download, edit and adjust your image files each day. (We will provide a complete list of necessary gear before the workshop begins.)
